Living out of town shouldn’t mean we miss out on great produce, should it?

Hey, I’m Will, former fruit shop owner and supposed retiree at my farm in Guanaba.

Ive been in fruit since my father introduced me as a young lad and have travelled both this country and the world buying fruit, selling fruit, looking at fruit, tasting fruit and visiting farms.

Having been in the industry for so long I know most of the growers in Queensland, and a lot interstate and can usually call them up and see what’s happening at any given time.

After selling my shop of over thirty years in Paradise Point, my wife Sue and I moved to Guanaba with the plan of growing our own produce, which in all fairness we have done pretty well.

Soon however, I realised that we were still having to buy from supermarkets and the quality just wasn’t there, a lot of the time the stock was short dated and stored in refrigeration units for quite some time and as a passionate fruiterer this frustrated me a lot.

Did we really have to live in town to eat fresh quality produce?

Could we not live in the Hinterlands like Kings and eat like Kings too?

So, after much discussion and thought, I have decided to venture back to my former world and to start a new business, an online store for us in the Hinterlands, to eat and enjoy quality fruit and vegetables and delicious gourmet items.

Of course, we are a farming community and what you grow you should eat, I am exactly the same, but when the season, weather, pests etc are not aligned then we can eat great produce from Aussie farmers and be the envy of our city dwelling friends.

I hope to meet you along the way, to introduce you to varieties of produce you wont find in the supermarket along with beautiful local products like the award winning Grainge jams or In Season’s feta’s and olives.

This is an exciting new journey for me and I hope for you also and I look forward to you and your families enjoying produce that is farm to fork fresh, long lasting and most of all absolutely delicious eating.

Cheers to us all 🥂

Will & Sue
